Advanced filtration systems for Koi ponds now with NEW K+ Media

Building on the tried and tested technology that has been present in the world renowned Nexus, the team at Evolution Aqua have gone even further to enhance their number one koi pond filter. 

The Nexus 220+ and Nexus 320+ filters now come with a new filter media called K+ Media in the moving bed outer chamber for vastly improved biological filtration and faster filter maturation. The new Nexus+ filters are now supplied "auto ready", with factory fitted fixings already in place, making it even easier to upgrade to the Nexus Automatic Cleaning System.

How the Nexus Works

Water from the pond enters the nexus via the inlet into the inner chamber which works as a vortex, allowing larger solids to settle out. Water then passes through the grills in the stainless steel “Eazy” filter, where the finer particles are removed by the static bed K1 Micro® filter media. The clean water then passes to the outside chamber of the Nexus for biological treatment before returning to the pond. At this stage, biological breakdown occurs through different strains of bacteria and filter feeders living on the protected surface area of each K1+ Media filer. The bacteria convert Ammonia and Nitrite into less harmful Nitrate. Water then passes through the exit grill into the outlet and returns to the pond.

Physically turning ball valves and manually switching pumps on and off will now be a thing of the past thanks to the Nexus Automatic System. All of the key processes that form the cleaning cycle are now controlled automatically with this easy to install kit.

A compact member of the Nexus family, the EazyPod is a mechanical and biological filter system for garden ponds up to 5,333 gallons or Koi ponds up to 2,640 gallons. The EazyPod utilises static K1 Micro, which provides enhanced biological benefits, even when using the EazyPod solely as a mechanical waste filter.

The EazyPod Automatic is a self-cleaning, mechanical and biological filter system for ponds up to 2,640 gallons.

The integrated control box contains an adjustable timer which initiates a cleaning cycle automatically - meaning your filter will clean itself even when you’re not there! Inside the control box, the electronic connector blocks control the automated waste valve, along with your choice of circulating pump (not supplied). It even houses an integral air pump which kicks in automatically to clean the K1 Micro media.

Crystal clear, healthy water is achieved by K1 Micro filter media, which also provides enhanced biological benefits by way of its protected surface area.

The Eazypod UV Automatic features an integrated 18 Watt UVC built in to the inlet section of the filter, helping to clear green water. Available in 2 models, users can select either the EazyPod Automatic or the EazyPod UV Automatic (with built-in 18 watt UV). 

The Tempest Filter is an innovative polishing system for ponds, using K+Media, to deliver crystal clear, healthy water. The Tempest filter is easy to install and is simple and quick to clean, by way of a unique, patent pending air syphon design. During the cleaning process, air is drawn into the filter as it empties which causes the water to agitate, effectively cleaning the K+Media. Using Evolution Aqua’s K+Media as the filter media, particles down to one micron can be filtered. Designed to be used in conjunction with any filtration system, the Tempest Filter offers additional mechanical and biological filtration.

The Surge Filter is an innovative filter that helps deliver crystal clear, healthy water for ponds up to 1,320 gallons. The Surge Filter uses K+Media for enhanced mechanical and biological filtration to trap fine particles and to help maintain a biological equilibrium within the pond. An integrated UV Clarifier prevents green water. The Surge Filter is easy to install and is simple and quick to clean, using Evolution Aqua’s patented Air Clean Technology. This unique air syphon design allows air to be drawn into the filter as it empties which causes the water to agitate, effectively cleaning the K+Media.
