The various densities can be used in sequence or separately for unique filtration requirements. This is one of the greatest characteristics which Matala has to offer. No other media on the market can perform this step-wise filtration. Matala effectively separates large particles to small and still maintains a very aerobic and free flow of water without channeling. Matala is slightly buoyant and will not sink to the bottom of your filter. Matala stood vertically on end will not float. Matala stacked horizontally will hold each other down. Due to it's rigidity the Matala can be wedged in place in the filter without support.

K1 media has been used by Evolution Aqua in Koi filtration systems for a number of years. This new type of filter media, K1 Micro, contains all of the benefits of traditional K1 media but is extruded in a much smaller form. The small wheel shaped filter media pieces provide a significantly increased protected surface area per cubic foot when compared to standard K1 for bacteria to colonize. This makes K1 Micro an ideal filter media for aquariums of all types where high level biological filtration is needed. K1 Micro can also be used to replace existing filter media.

Savio Springflo Bio-filter Media's performance is unmatched. Unlike copies, this patented ribbon encourages better adhesion and proliferation of bacteria using a special formulation of polypropylene and calcium carbonate. Aqua Ultraviolet Ultra Media is an excellent choice for DIY pond filters, providing effective biological filtration. Each box contains approx. 8.5 lbs. (1 cubic foot) of tubular bio-media, specifically designed to support beneficial bacterial growth. These bacteria help break down ammonia into harmless compounds while efficiently trapping solids without clumping.
